Seth Kolski’s life
was destroyed when his sister disappeared. Unable to cope, Seth
reinvented and buried himself in his new life. The only problem was the
wolf that lurking beneath the surface wasn’t satisfied with such a tame
existence. Not until a chance meeting at a bar brought him face to face
with a woman he had a crush on when he was a teenager. A woman he only
now realized was his mate.
Jamie Buchner knew
her marriage was over long before she called it quits. Retreating to her
home town with her son, she was determined to start over. Needed a break
from being a full time mother, Jamie headed to the local bar for a
little adult talk. The moment she stepped in the door, she knew it was a
mistake. She didn’t know how to flirt, and she definitely didn’t go
there to pick up a date. That was until she saw Seth Kolski and the
gorgeous man he grew up to become.
A night of hot
passion became more than either thought possible. Though Seth does not
regret their night together, he knew that to expect more would only
cause trouble. Unfortunately, Jamie doesn’t seem to realize it, and no
matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t seem to stay away from her. As
danger closed in on them, they must learn to trust in each other or risk
losing their new found love. A killer was on the loose and if he didn’t
get his vengeance, he would make everyone pay.
The tension built
slowly, and it took a little while for me to be pulled into the story.
Even though I liked the characters, the pace rambled a bit too much for
my tastes. I liked the story concept and loved Seth as the troubled
hero. Jamie is a strong heroine who knows what she wants and determined
to get it. I enjoyed reading how these two fell in love and struggled to
make their relationship work. For a new series about werewolves and the
men and women they love, don’t miss book one, The Strength of the Pack.
