Reporter Regan
Cluny is adamant that she’s going to interview reclusive Philanthropist
Charles Nash. Nash is on an archeological dig in California and after
several ‘no’s’, she’s decided to just show up to interview him. Regan
has her reasons for being so aggressive, but that independent streak is
about to get her into some deep trouble. Regan has no idea that the
biker she’s just insulted is a vampire with a several hundred year
grudge against the very man she’s looking for – and he can’t hurt Nash
so he’ll hurt anyone important to Nash.
Finding Regan just
short of dead after a brutal attack, Nash realizes the danger she’s in.
He knows that Harper won’t stop until everyone Nash cares about is gone,
and he’s come to care about Regan. This leaves him to figure out how to
keep Regan safe, and to decide whether to tell her what he really is.
SOMETHING WICKED
is a fast-paced sizzler for sure. I wasn’t initially attracted to the
biker theme, but soon came to realize that it didn’t matter – this story
is a character driven thriller and I was hooked. Nash is understandably
reserved, having had generations to understand what he’s facing. Regan
is on a time limit, thrown into the pot, sink or swim and you can feel
the tension. I can honestly say I was sad when this one ended.
