Temperance Peabody
is a strong, stubborn and determined woman. Growing up in a strict
household with a Christian based foundation; Temperance had no thoughts
of romance or love. Although her parents were loving and caring, the one
thing they overlooked was making sure Temperance understood and knew
about the simplicities of love.
Tragedy
unexpectedly hits the small Oregon Territory in which Temperance lives
and suddenly Temperance is faced with a life or death decision. With her
decision made, Temperance now knows that the only thing she can depend
on is God. Unfortunately, at the same time, Temperance is in need of a
hired hand to help tend to her farm and the only one she can find is a
drunken jailbird.
Thaddeus Brennan
is the epitome of a rough neck. Hard through and though, Thaddeus lives
life one day at a time. Unhappy with life, people and anything else that
crosses his path, Thaddeus is not one to be friends with. Nevertheless,
Temperance endures Thaddeus’ menacing and bad-tempered nature until
surprisingly she finds in him something to think twice about.
A MAN FOR
TEMPERANCE by Gilbert Morris was a well put together book. I loved the
moody and temperamental characters that Mr. Morris put together. A great
factor about this book was that by the end of the book, I thought I
could predict where the story was going but then later I had to second
guess myself. The ending was perfect and truly set the whole world right
in my eyes. Get ready and warm up to a wonderful, casual, laid-back and
easy read.
