Four pastors’
wives, each from different denominations, meet every other week at a
café forty miles from their hometown to encourage each other. This time
together is the only opportunity they have to be able to talk freely
about their unique problems as pastors’ wives. They feel they have to
hide their true feelings from the members of their church.
Mimi, with three
children, prides herself on her self-control yet yearns for peace.
Felicia struggles with her often conflicting ambitions as a wife,
mother, and career woman. Jennifer’s faith is waning. And Lisa has a
secret she’s afraid to reveal.
In addition to
their individual troubles, they also share common problems -- wrong
expectations, long hours alone, and feeling that they’re “last in line”
for their husbands’ attention. Meeting away from prying eyes, they
become committed to each other, pray for one another, and gain the
freedom to talk openly about their fears, annoyances, and frustrations.
When they spot
another pastor’s wife with a strange man, suspicions arise.
