Lanie Freeman had
a full load on her hands. Not only was she responsible for her younger
siblings, but now she is faced with her incarcerated father’s failing
health. Because of her faith in God, and the exceptional closeness of
her family, provision has never been too much of a problem until
recently. Thankfully, her younger brother Cody has thought of a
marvelous idea that might actually work.
Despite all that
is happening in her life, Lanie manages to juggle three love interests,
one of whom she has had a crush on since she was a teen. Her crush Owen
Merritt, one of two local doctors in their small town has always treated
her like a sister. With her parents gone, Owen has always been the one
to step in and help Lanie through all of life’s crisis that take place
in the Freeman family. Trouble comes to Owen, when a stranger comes to
town and Lanie pushes her faith to the limit to save him.
Lanie also decided
to take in a lonely and pregnant teen named Cass. Lanie’s other
brother; Davis found her one day on a train, in miserable shape. Cass,
plagued by a terrible event that happened and left her abandoned and
pregnant learns, with the help of the Freemans, to come out of her
shell.
Many stories are
developed and jam-packed into the novel by Gilbert Morris, THE MIRACLE.
The book is written in the eyes of a young adolescent woman who is
boggled down by the pressures in her life as well as in others. I would
recommend this book for a teen due to the manner in which the book was
written. It took a while for me to get through this book and I quickly
lost my interest while reading, due to the storylines that were void of
excitement or passion. Gilbert Morris is an excellent author despite my
opinion on this particular book. I still look forward to catching up on
all his other books.
