Although an
underachiever in the famous Jasper clan, Evie Jasper Holloway could
never turn away a plea of help from her family. So when they wanted her
to baby sit an alien assassin that tried to kill members of her family,
she drew the line. She had kids to protect and a business to run. When
pressured, she relented; confident the loner wouldn’t be able to handle
her lifestyle and gave him ten days before he admitted defeat.
When REEF, a
robotically engineered enemy fighter, crashed and became injured, the
computer controlling his emotions was damaged. He decided it was time to
make a fresh start. Only matters were more complicated then that, for
you see, Reef must learn to become human again. When he learned Evie
said he wouldn’t last ten day, he took the words as a challenge.
Caught in a
surprise attack, Evie wondered if she would make it out alive – until a
hunk of a man came to her rescue. Learning the mystery savior was the
man her family wanted to shelter didn’t soften her resolve to be free of
him – until she learned she was being followed. Who better to protect
her and her family than a hired killer? As attraction grows between the
two, they must face the ghosts of their past to survive the future.
How to Lose an
Extra Terrestrial in 10 Days is book three in a series. The story
captured my attention within the first few pages, but quickly became
bogged down on catching the readers up on the past books. Even though I
say that, I can’t help being drawn to the main characters. The book
quickly picked up, and I fell in love with both the story and the
people. The ended felt a little abrupt for me, leaving me with some
unanswered questions. Overall, I liked the book and was sad to see them
leave.
