Sophie Knutson
wants to marry Hamre Bjorklund now. She does not want to wait until
after graduation like her father does. She convinces Hamre they should
elope instead. The young couple settles in Seattle where Hamre is a
fisherman. Sophie soon discovers being a wife of a fisherman, who is
gone for long stretches, is harder than she thought it would be. She
decides to get a job at the local fish cannery to earn money and to
fight off her feelings of being alone.
When she discovers
she is pregnant she is feeling more alone than ever. Then tragedy comes
knocking on her door, and she must make a hard choice. Stay where she is
hoping she can make it or she will have to head back home hoping her
family will take her back into their loving arms.
Sophie will have
only her strong faith, her unbelievable strength to get her through this
horrible time. She knows deep down inside she will be okay as long as
she has her faith.
Lauraine Snelling
is a gifted author. Her books are rich in detail, without weighing the
reader with too much information. I highly recommend this latest
offering.
