Jane Blundell became a vampire when she was infected by a tainted blood sample. Her father has been working to find a cure for her. Callan Kilkenny is a vampire. Callan and Jane are fully developed characters. They feel like real people. Callan is horrified of what he has become. He is desperate to become human again. Jane retains as much humanity as she can include drinking blood out of a cup. She hides from her father how her needs have changed including her increased sexual desires. These are two powerful characters that will invoke all sorts of emotions from the reader. What Callan and Jane undergoes is heart-wrenching and makes this a memorable book. The passion and love they feel for each other permeates through the story.
