On the run for her life, Natalie Lambert headed home to New Orleans. But enough was enough, and she’s tired of hiding. Determined to face her parent’s killer, Natalie set a trap … using herself as bait! The killer attacked using subterfuge, and Natalie found the tables turned on her. Until dashing Detective Rene Broussard came to her rescue.
Rene knew the woman was trouble, but he didn’t realize how much until he touched her. Instant attraction pulled them together, so it was all he could do to concentration on the job and not Natalie's luscious body. When he found himself naked, tied to the bed, he was furious. But not so mad he could fight his attraction to her. With one touch, one look, Rene fell prey to Natalie’s allure.
Learning you are a vampire wasn’t something a person could accept in one day. With Rene’s very addictive and obvious charms, Natalie can’t fight her desires or her new cravings. She had to have him in any way necessary. When they learned the truth of their captivity, both were horrified. Though still attracted to her, Rene fights his body’s demands to take her. But how long can he resist her seductive spell? Unfortunately, he’s starting to fear that it’s not just lust that’s drawing him back to her.
The characters started out fully formed and alive, ready to jump off the page. Wonderful descriptions pulled me into the story, and the sensuality level is through the roof. It’s definitely hot enough to spike anyone’s blood pressure. The plot twists intrigued me and although I liked the plot, it almost had too much sex to find the story beneath. The explicit sexual language drew me a little out of the story. The open relationship between the couples was explained in the story but it made me doubt Rene and Natalie ability to find a happy ending with one another.
Warning: This book deals with some lesbian relations and is highly explicit. If this is offensive to you in any way, this book may not be for you.
