When the feud between the MacLeans and the Kincaids is given fresh life by the death of Callum MacLean, Fiona MacLean knows she must do something drastic. In order to save her remaining brothers from what will surely be a bloody end, as they try to avenge Callum, Fiona hatches a plan. And, finding Black Jack Kincaid - drunk and unconscious in the middle of a muddy road - fits perfectly into her crazy scheme. Jack, in his inebriated state, offers no resistance when Fiona kidnaps him and drags him to the altar.
When he awakes, Black Jack is stunned to find that he’s married to Fiona MacLean. Fiona is no stranger, and is, in fact the girl who broke Jack’s heart years ago. He’d covered his broken heart then by wenching, gambling and drinking, and now he’s not so sure he wants to give up his lifestyle for Fiona. And he definitely wants Fiona to know that she can’t just take over his life on a whim – especially when she’d rejected his offer of marriage so long ago.
In London, Jack and Fiona try to make a go of their strange marriage as things begin to get a little out of hand. Soon, Jack has an ex-lover to deal with and Fiona’s life may be in danger. The two draw closer together as circumstances threaten to tear them apart.
Karen Hawkins has crafted a delightful tale in HOW TO ABDUCT A HIGHLAND LORD. Hawkins has included something for everyone in this historical romp: magic, mayhem, mystery and, of course, the requisite romance. Fast-paced and fun, HOW TO ABDUCT A HIGHLAND LORD is a keeper, and a novel that readers of Regency won’t want to miss!
