Reya doesn’t want to do this latest assignment, but she knows that she can’t get out of it. She’s been sent to find out the issues that primes have with combat and what they can do to reduce the stress level on the troops. The trouble is, she’s being sent to an outpost were the commander is definitely a throwback, and she doesn’t want to deal with that right now. Right away the sparks fly, and she’s not sure who is going to win this battle…
Vandar knows that his station is no place for a woman, even if she is a Fem. This particular fem bothers him more than he wants to admit, and he’s having trouble keeping his hands off her. When she starts taking a close interest in his troops, he knows that he will have to stop her… but who will win this contest of wills?
The tension between the two main characters sometimes made them end up in pretty funny situations as they both deny that they have any attraction for the other, even though it’s obvious that they can’t help but be together. The chemistry between the two is amusing to watch, and I really enjoyed the fights and the effort to one up each other. Even though they deny the feelings, they can’t deny the attraction, and some of the sex scenes are pretty hot. If you enjoy plenty of action and a strong heroine that fights her fate every step of the way, you will definitely have a lot of fun reading Vandar’s War.
