TO TEMPT A WOLF by Kate Steele

Hayley Royden wanted a fresh start to her life. In order to be near her sister, she decided to take a chance in small town Whispering Springs. As a budding writer, she had everything at the tip of her fingers… except for a man. Wouldn’t you know it – The first man she saw was Jace McKenna, the town’s playboy. No way was she going to have him anything to do with him. Even if he was the ultimate temptation.

In a world where werewolves roam free, Jace McKenna loved his life in all forms. It only took one glimpse for him to know his future lies with Hayley. She was the one for him. The heat between them sparked on their first meeting, but Jace knew he wanted more from her then an affair. He wanted her heart and soul.

Her sister threatened, Hayley stepped forward to protect her and was injured in the process. Jace couldn’t believe he wasn’t there to protect her. When it happened again, he was furious. No on touched what he considered his. But because of his past, things go wrong, and Hayley pulled away from him. He refused to believe he could lose everything because he was too afraid to trust her with his past.

The spots of humor in this novel really made this great read. Too much outside interference and author intrusion, slowed down the tension. It took me too long to connect with the main characters. I wanted to see Hayley and Jace work out their own problems. Jace is a fantastic alpha man, with a soft side for the ones he loves. Talk about melt your heart! Unfortunately, Hayley didn’t come across so well. A few twists and personal quirks, kept her from falling to the wayside. The story was predictable in some places but good description and an unexpected ending made To Tempt A Wolf worth the read.
