As part of a prestigious witch family, Noelle knows how to behave properly. But what is a girl to do when she falls in love with Daniel, the man she’s been helping for the past three months? Even worse, what happens when you also fall in love with his leashed shifter, Jake? Daniel, a spirit witch with out of control powers, is spiritually and magically linked to Jake. Jake is a shape shifter who can change into a bear, and he watches over both Daniel and Noelle with an intriguing look in his eyes. With both Noelle and Jake willing to take their relationship further, they turn their attentions to convincing Daniel that the three of them can make magic this Christmas.
The story starts up slowly; the stiff interaction between the characters made it hard for me to believe they had been working and living together for the past three months. I also think the way magic works in this world could have been explained better. I’ve read the other two Leashed stories, so it wasn’t hard for me to understand, but I think someone new to this series would find it somewhat confusing.
Part way through the story the plot became more interesting and the characters start to have some real chemistry. Once I got to this point I enjoyed reading the rest of the story. I found it interesting to see how the author approached Daniel’s reluctance towards a male/male relationship. For a short Christmas story special, it was a nice, sensual treat.
