Max Sall is a self-made man. Overcoming his tragic childhood, he has become a powerful and wealthy man. How he lives his life greatly affects his children: Kieran, Amber and Paolo. Each of them has to come to terms with their legacy and what they have become.
Saffron Skies is a sweeping tale that spans many years covering Max’s life as well as his children. His actions play a pivotal role in his children’s life. Max is a driven man who has overcome a horrific childhood. He has wealth and power using it to his full advantage. Max doesn’t come across as a very likable man but the reader will understand his motives. With such a dysfunctional father, it is not surprising his children would have problems too. Amber and Kieran are his legitimate children. Amber craves his approval and his love. She spends much of her life in search of it. Kieran falls short of the mark when he embarks on an affair with the wrong woman. Paolo is the daughter from his mistress. She grows up jealous of Amber and wanting what she has. Paolo spends her life competing and comparing herself to Amber. It becomes apparent to the reader that Amber is the central character in this story. Her life has been molded by her father but she is able to break free and find happiness. It was extremely satisfying to watch her find her niche as well as a man worthy of her. Along with her family, her friends, Becky and Madeleine are woven into the story. What happens to Amber, Paolo, Kieran, Becky and Madeleine will keep the reader on the edge of their seat!!
Saffron Skies does have lots of characters and they are deftly woven into the story. We follow them through the major points in their lives as they experience heartbreak as well as happiness. The author pulls the reader in with her storytelling with twists and turns as the years roll by. There is plenty of action that will keep the readers’ attention. The erotic action was on the light side but blended in nicely with the storyline. Saffron Skies was extremely addictive book and a definite page-turner!
