Lady Georgina Maitland needs a good steward to run her estates. Harry Pye fits her need to a T. They enter a discreet liaison which brings them both fulfillment but a shadow looms over their happiness. Sheep as well as people are being found dead from poisoning and Harry is the prime suspect.
Georgina is a spinster at the ripe old age of 28. She is independently wealthy and runs her own land without a male hovering over her. She comes across as very intelligent, loyal and feisty woman. Harry is dependable and an upright kind of guy. He is certainly someone that you can lean on. Georgina and Harry is a rare coupling in historical romances. He is not a member of the aristocracy but just a regular bloke. The author has created a lead couple that is extremely charming and likable. Both Georgina and Harry comes alive within the pages of this book. There is a sparkle of electricity around them from their spoken dialogue to their boudoir.
There is an entire cast of wonderful supporting characters including the villains. Bennet, Violet, Silas and Thomas adds depth and richness enhancing this story even more. They are all important parts of the book and frankly, it would be hard to envision it without them.
The Leopard Prince is a solidly written tale with some remarkable characters as well as an inventive storyline that will steer readers to Ms. Hoyt's corner. She is definitely a new and enjoyable voice in the historical romance genre. The story moves at a quick pace as the mystery of who is committing the murders are exposed. It is gratifying to see that she has followed up, The Raven Prince, with another winner!
