Lyra is a survivor. She has stayed alive by her wits as she stayed out of the clutches of Neal. She is the type of heroine this reader loves – intelligent, feisty and brave. Dare is an alpha male to the core. He is dependable, lovable and tough. The tenderness that Dare displays toward Lyra will make the reader fall in love with him. Lyra and Dare are a great pairing. The powerful attraction between them is an intense and unshakable connection. Ms. McCray is at the top of her game when she creates the erotic scenes – they are sizzling hot!
There are a slew of secondary characters including Lyra’s mother, Nick and the various members of the cult. They are all vital and important to the story. Ms. McCray has created one of the most insidious villains in Neal Barker. The man is just plain evil and will have readers on the edge with what he will do next! The author ably transmits the terror and fear a cult can produce to the reader with her descriptions.
Chosen Prey is a suspenseful, action-packed and smartly written novel. It will take the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotional highs and lows. With dynamic characters, intensively erotic action and an extremely solid storyline; it makes for a resoundingly good read. Chosen Prey will keep the reader’s eyes glued to it pages until the very end!
