Lana remembered little from her life before she became a slave. Trapped and imprisoned within a dragon’s nest, Lana expected any moment to be her last. In fear, she reached out to the one thing that would ultimately kill her –the baby dragon. And was shocked to receive a reply. Tor and Lana’s friendship grew into a deep bond. In a daring escape, they risked everything for a chance to live on their own in the hostile world.
Under attack and injured, the dragon Roland feared his time was short. Until a dragon and his knight came to his rescue. Wounded, he barely managed to land. He knew he would never survive his injures. So when he woke in the middle of the night, mostly healed, Roland was shocked. To find out he was rescued by a baby dragon and healed by a woman, he was confounded. Thankful for their help, he offered them shelter in his homeland.
Lana and Tor considered it a good fortune to be offered a way out of their cursed kingdom and eagerly snatched at his dragon’s offer. As they traveled together, Roland started to care for this lost couple and would do anything for them. But Roland has a secret of his own. Fear that his past might frighten Lana away, Roland kept silent. He would do anything in his power to make sure they don’t leave him. But, as battle rages in his kingdom, Roland comes to realize Lana and Tor might be in more danger then ever.
This enchanting tale stole my heart. I couldn’t help but fall in love with Tor and Roland. Lana is a fantastic character as well and easily carried the part of heroine. Some parts were a bit emotional but they easily fit well into this unique story. The imagery created by Bianca D’Arc really captured the story on the page - a time where mystical dragons were alive and thriving. Great job, not only on the story telling, but keeping the legends alive and well.
