I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS is one anthology you won’t want to miss. With stories by Lind Lael Miller, Catherine Mulvany, Julie Let and Roxanne St. Claire, there’s something in this holiday-themed anthology for everyone.
From the sweet, poignant style of Christmas of the Red Chiefs by Linda Leal Miller, to the hot, sensuous
Meltdown by Julie Leto, each story will bring you a bit of Christmas cheer.
In Christmas of the Red Chiefs a young woman suffering the ill effects of her husband’s untimely death finds solace in her hometown. After losing everything – the car, the house, and the business – after finding that her recently deceased husband had secretly been digging their family deeper and deeper in debt, Sarah takes her stepdaughter and heads back to her hometown. Her starchy old aunt has offered her a job, and a place to stay, as she gets back on her feet, but Sarah isn’t sure she can handle the emotional turmoil that comes with living with her father’s sister. That is, until she meets her aunt’s handsome neighbor, Joe. Joe has suffered his own loss, and his way of coping is quite different from Sarah’s. Soon, the effects of the holiday season and her own personal soul-searching, allow Sarah to see that things are not as bad as they seem and that she might just find happiness with Joe. Miller’s signature style brings this poignant short story to life effortlessly.
Once Upon a Christmas by Catherine Mulvany is sheer fantasy mixed with holiday cheer. Hailey will need a little divine intervention to help her hook up with Thomas MacCormack. Since she was a budding teen of fifteen, Hailey had been in love with one or the other of the MacCormack boys – but she’d soon found out that only Thomas was worth loving. The betrayal had cut her deeply, and now, coming back to have Christmas with the two boys, and her stepfather, was going to be quite a challenge. But, Hailey has more help that she realizes, and one magical Christmas soon ensues, giving Hailey the change to have her heart’s desires granted. Mulvany manages to meld magic and Christmas together perfectly in this fantastical short story.
In Meltdown by Julie Leto, a hot Cuban-American Public Relations officer must thaw out her boss’s cold public façade – or loose her job. Things go from cold to hot in the blink of an eye when Isabel finds exactly the right way to raise Simon’s temperature for good – just in time for Christmas. Julie Leto writes a sizzling holiday romance in this short story.
In You Can Count on Me by Roxanne St. Claire, a female bodyguard is commissioned to guard a Russian’s most precious treasure – his daughter, Kristina. But, in the process another of his treasures, a priceless Fabergé egg, is stolen. Raquel must help him recover the egg, and protect Kristina, and in the process she gets more than she bargains for from the sexy former KGB agent. Roxanne St. Claire has done a fabulous job of merging a mini spy novel and a Christmas-themed short story.
I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS is a holiday romance read that you won’t want to miss. The stories are varied, but all are spectacular.
