It is never too late for a little romance! Attalee Gaines, the soda jerk at the Bottom Dollar Emporium, proves this fact admirably. She’s not a youngun’ anymore, yet she’s engaged to be married to her main squeeze, Dooley. And, when she’s not sparking with Dooley, she’s playing matchmaker to her friends, who aren’t much younger than she is!
For Mavis, the proprietor of the Emporium, Attalee’s got her eye on Brewster Clark. Brewster’s back in town after some time away, and the strapping man who used to be quite a jock hasn’t changed much since school. He sets hearts aflutter all over town, and both Mavis and her best-friend Birdie are determined to make Brewster theirs.
Rusty Williams is the one for her slightly uptight friend Gracie Tobias, Attalee is sure! Only Gracie isn’t quite ready for the dating scene again. Rusty is no slouch though, and Attalee is sure that he’ll win Gracie over, especially if he wears his leather biker duds.
And let’s not forget Elizabeth! Although she’s a youngun’ compared to Attalee’s bunch of friends, and married to boot, she still needs a little help. After all, she’s a new mom, not used to staying home, and she’s getting a little stir crazy.
Author Karin Gillespie has crafted a hilarious and endearing novel in DOLLAR DAZE. The Bottom Dollar Girls are quite a bunch, proving that life after sixty doesn’t need to slow down. Gillespie’s humorous style will have readers hooting out loud, and her cheeky characters will have them coming back for more! DOLLAR DAZE is a one-of-a-kind find, a must read for young and old alike!
