Mazzy Morgan had entertained her last gentleman, so with a quick smile to Henry and some advice, Mazzy was about to leave San Antonio for good. It took her some time to get the money but now she had the means to leave and a goal to start a new life.
On board the stage she couldn't help but notice the gentleman beside her, handsome, well dressed and he also noticed her. Her thoughts traveled to what he would be like ...... she stopped herself in mid thought knowing that that life was behind her now and there was a new Mazzy Morgan headed west. After all, she was a lady.
Slade Thomas was tired after spending ten days tracking a bank robber -- a ride on the stage was a good way to relax. His gazed fell on the woman next to him,
and though the stage was cramped he had to admit that the lady with the blue eyes to his side was the prettiest gal he had seen in a long time.
But he had a job to do and there would be another time for his other thoughts. Still couldn't hurt to let one's mind travel to pleasant thoughts of the gal beside him.
A lawman searching for a bank robber, a lady seeking a new life somehow placed together on a stage that turned out to be the path that leads them to the answer to what they are seeking. Slade finds the robber and Mazzy finds that the past and future mean nothing, and the present is only important if she has Slade to share it with.
Together they find a journey of passion, love and danger that forever bonds them.
An interesting plot that though a light read -- is packed with excitement, passion and adventure. Three important factors in any book.
