When Victoria Cartwright’s Nana died she left a legacy – the female descendant who could open a wardrobe would inherit her magic and complete a spell.
Encouraged by friends Kira and Melody [who have their own books in the ‘Witch’ series], Victoria opens the wardrobe, finding a unicorn and starting a chain of events that change her life.
Rory MacKenzie’s grandfather carved all the unicorns on Immortal Classic, a merry-go round that brought fame and riches to his town. He fell in love and when his beloved moved away he sent her a unicorn from Immortal Classic, throwing the town into despair. Now it’s up to Rory to find the missing unicorn and salvage his family’s honour.
So Rory heads to Salem, where Victoria has an antique shop. When they instantly clash, Rory wonders if he’ll ever get his unicorn – or the woman who has haunted his dreams.
This final installment of the series is a conclusion and possibly a beginning with the addition or 3 new characters to continue the line.
While at times I didn’t understand Victoria’s anger at Rory, and I really didn’t enjoy the way the self-image issue was handled, THE SCOT, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE was an enjoyable read. It would have helped to have read the first 2 books first, but after a confusing first chapter of introduction it does stand alone. It was a unique story, and Rory was a really well done character.
