Shannon is the owner of a temp agency that’s going to provide workers to a secret project, and she’s going down after hours to get the contracts signed. The project revolves around a video game, but not just any game. It totally immerses a person in the game and makes them feel like they are living it. When she inadvertently stumbles into the game with the sexy Dr. that invented it, she sees the endless possibilities. Until she realizes she’s stuck in an alternate dimension with no way out but to play the game to the end…
The two characters in this story didn’t seem to have a lot of passion between them, even though they were caught in a situation that should have engineered a lot of sparks. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of sex in the story, but the feelings between Shannon and Damien didn’t seem real to me. I thought the premise of the story was wonderful, but the potential was never realized. They both seem to start out as completely different personalities and morals until they get into the game and start playing, then it all changed. I thought it all happened just a little to fast. I liked the twist of him not being able to see during the day in the game, and I liked how Jessie Verino was able to look at the possibilities of an alternate dimension and come up with some pretty inventive ways to use it. Overall, this is a good story that certainly shows a lot of promise, and is an interesting read.
