Shape-shifter/Fantasy

ARCTIC DRAGON by Delilah Devlin

Forced to live as a recluse, Drake made a vow to himself –do no harm. Out hunting, he spotted what he thought was a deer and took aim. Instead, it turned out to be a woman riding a horse. Accidentally stranded because of him, Drake had no choice to take her home with him. To leave her would mean her death.

Queen of Northland, Larikke set out to search for something missing in her life. In order to protect her land, she must marry. The man chosen was everything the kingdom needed. He just doesn’t excite her in the least. The instant she met Drake, she couldn’t resist the urge to get closer to him.

As days passed in an erotic fantasy, Drake kept his fears to himself. Not quite human, the thought of inadvertently hurting her, haunted him. But all too soon, a disgruntled suitor discovered her whereabouts and was determined to return her at any costs. Drake must decide if he can trust himself enough to come to her rescue. For although he lived his life alone, Larikke made him want for much more.

The description in Arctic Dragon made the novel an entertaining read. Larikke and Drake’s emotions were well written, but what really grabbed my attention was the vulnerability in Drake’s character. It was portrayed in a way to make him sympathetic but not too far to appear needy or any less masculine. The erotic nature of this novel moves from down right erotic, to sweet and moving -a bit of something for everyone. If you love fantasies, fairytales and a dab of spice to keep your reading hot, read Arctic Dragon.
