Jared, Viscount Ravenswood is known as “Lord Beast” among the ton. Mary, his friend and servant have asked him to take her child to Calantha, Duchess of Clairborne. It is her deathbed request and Jared is uncertain about fulfilling it. He believes the Duchess may be just as nasty as her late husband, who raped Mary and fathered her child.
Jared is physically scarred but a gentle soul lurks within. His physical appearance intimidates people except for Calantha who can see his inner self. She has always been attracted to him. Calantha experienced a heinous marriage and has no wish to repeat the experience Jared and Calantha embarks on a relationship that is filled with sexual desire and love. Ms. Monroe does an admirable job of describing Jared and Calantha. The reader can understand their actions due to them being so fully developed. At times, Jared seems to be a little dense and can say the wrong things but he is a kind and gentle soul. Calantha is spreading her wings after her marriage but there is always an aura of trepidation that surrounds her actions. Ultimately it is the love shared by Jared and Calantha that takes center stage. It was heartwarming to watch these injured souls become stronger and healthier together.
Take Me is the last book in this trilogy. It brings back characters from the earlier ones, Touch Me and Tempt Me. It is a wonderful ending to the Langley family as we get to see how the other two couples are doing after their “happily ever after” endings. Take Me is a highly erotic historical romance that will expose the reader to many emotions.
