Jessie Hayden knew a storm was coming and she had to get the horses in the barn,
but with a clash of thunder Spirit jumps the fence and is off down the road.
Colt Tucker was making his way, soaked to the bone and weary, from the long walk from town. He was told the Blue Pines Ranch was not too far but the rain had slowed his journey. Slowed it enough to hear the sound of a horse coming and a rider almost trampling him down.
Some would call it fate and others part of a plan, but on this rain soaked road two strangers meet, though they have no idea their lives would forever be changed and linked.
There was something about Mr. Tucker that didn't seem right to Jessie but she had to admit he was the first to answer the advertisement for a ranch hand that her father had posted over three years ago. Frank Hayden seemed to feel comfortable with the young man and one had to admit an extra pair of hands would help out. Colt had explained that he had experience with ranching and everyone had to admit he did have a way with horses, especially Spirit, who no one
else could handle. No one except for Charlie, Jessie's older brother who had left the family ranch three years ago to work on a ranch in Texas. Charlie's absence had been a cruel blow to Jessie and even the thought of Charlie still brought tears to her eyes. When he left Jessie took on the job of running the ranch and forgot the fact she was a girl. Her life was the ranch and
keeping it running. When Colt arrived with his steel gray eyes something sparked a series of emotions that even she didn't understand.
Readers will instantly feel the emotions of Jessie and Colt and know that these two are destined for each other.
Yet their journey will take some twists before they realize a bond that was formed even before they had met.
For those of you who love westerns and romance this is one that can stand with some of the great authors and their stories a don't miss and well worth the read.
