Amelia Tucker (Tuck) is a bodyguard. She is protecting her latest client as they tour Scotland. She finds herself transported into the past and into a society that has a different idea of the role of women. Tuck finds herself under the protection of Colin MacLean. Can Tuck survive in this time period where women are definitely subservient to the men?
Tuck is the personification of the 21st century woman. She is strong, brave and intelligent. She is not afraid to kick butt if she has to. With such a strong personality, it isn’t surprising that she will clash with Colin who is an alpha male and Laird. Colin is perplexed by Tuck. He doesn’t know if she is a spy or just plain crazy. These two spar consistently and sparks do fly between them. The author creates two powerful characters that will stay with the reader after the book is finished. Rather than blend in with the time, Tuck forges ahead and does her thing. This is a woman who can accomplish whatever she decides upon as she has to deal with the problems that faces her.
Highlander’s Challenge is an extremely entertaining book. It is filled with action, romance and humor. The reader will be swept back in time with Tuck. This reader wondered how we would deal with Tuck’s situation. Could we survive in that time period? Of course, to have such a hunky hero as Colin, anything could be manageable!!! Colin is the perfect match for her. If you enjoy time-travel romances, give Highlander’s Challenge a try!!
