WOLFSBANE by Nathalie Gray

Scarlet is living on the streets of the city and getting more desperate to escape her life with each passing day. When a woman offers her the chance of a lifetime, she knows that she can’t refuse. Supposedly all she has to do is take care of some sick man and she will be warm, fed, and better taken care of than she has ever been. Even though she’s sure there’s a trick in it somewhere, it’s got to be better than what she is doing now. When she gets to the castle and meets who she’ll be taking care of, she finds out that there is a lot more going on than she’s been told.

Fredrick is beginning to think that he will never escape his captors. He’s been drugged, tortured and a prisoner for over two years, while Katrina and her partner Lothar took over his money and house. She’s told him that he will never be free until he either gives her a child or signs everything over to her, and he is determined to resist. If he doesn’t, more people than just him will be affected. Now he’s got more problems than just being a prisoner, he’s also a werewolf who might have just met his mate in Scarlet making him more vulnerable than he’s ever been.

I really enjoyed this story of two people who are struggling to escape their tormentors and fall in love while doing it. Scarlet was a great character that was believable as a maid because she never seemed to be arrogant beyond her station. She was a tough woman that tried to do her best in a bad situation. Fredrick is tortured, he doesn’t want to be what he is and his tormentors are making it even worse. They both try to resist one another and really have a lot of chemistry. Wolfsbane is a fascinating story that shouldn’t be missed.
