This is a story about Claudia Anderson, whose day job is writing freelance articles for several magazines and also a weekly column called Slice of Life for the local newspaper, the Star Telegram. Her night job is working as a phone sex operator for her company 1-900 Talk Dirty to Me. She has several regular customers and one customer, Jack, who calls daily. In her night job Claudia is known as Trixie, a fearless, liberated, tremendously sensual woman. Claudia on the other hand is Trixie’s opposite in personality and somewhat inhibited. As Jack and Trixie continue with their nightly calls, their conversations get more and more explicit and their sexual attraction really starts to sizzle. Since Jack began calling he has been the star of all of Claudia’s sexual fantasies. Claudia is going to the 40th birthday of her best friend Gayle’s husband Tony and stops at the market for a nice bottle of wine. She slams into a handsome man during her search, apologizes, and later meets him at the party. Gayle had invited him as a setup for Claudia’s date. The man is Dr. Blake Marsh, cardiologist, and there is something very familiar about his voice.
The story of Claudia/Trixie and Blake/Jack is so very, very hot. They couldn’t wait for their daily phone sex talks and once they meet, they also couldn’t keep their hands off each other, not even for a moment. Their story is tremendously explicit and erotic and beautifully written by Ms. Miles. The characters of Claudia and Blake are so exuberant when they get together, I envied their joy. This is Book 1 of the Coffee House Chronicles and I can’t wait to read the other books in the series. If you want a hot read to completely distract you, this book is the one to pick. I can’t wait to read more books by Ms. Miles.
