Lily Hedrick was the receptionist at Leaumont Financial Services. Since she had met her boss, Julian, a year ago, she had lusted after him. Lily had been celibate for years and decided that on the occasion of the company’s annual costume ball that it would be a good opportunity to seduce her boss. Julian was one of New Orleans’ most eligible bachelors. Lily went to the ball dressed as a Southern Belle wearing a Mardi Gras mask. Julian was dressed as a pirate. Julian was very intrigued and asked her to dance. He felt an immediate attraction to his mystery woman. He wanted to spend some more time with her but had to return to his host duties. While he was doing that, Lily fled into the night without Julian learning her identity. In her mask Lily felt like a completely alluring seductress. Without it, she felt almost invisible. Would Lily reveal her true identity to Julian or not and let the night remain a fantasy?
The characters of Lily and Julian are very attractive people, inside and out. Lily is very confident professionally but not so personally. Julian is a man who has it all and is now at a point in his life where he wants to settle down. The aspect of Julian not knowing who this woman is heightens the anticipation about what is going to happen between these two. The eroticism between Lily and Julian is beautifully written by Ms. Jackson. It is also very joyful. This is a very hot read. I look forward to reading more books by Ms. Jackson.
