For astronaut, Law
Kincade, finding out by an anonymous source that he fathered a son
sixteen years ago, is something that he doesn’t believe. As a celebrity,
women are always throwing themselves at him and want him to father their
children. But when he meets Marnie Hibbs, his alleged son’s mother, Law
is certain that if he slept with the beautiful woman before him, he’d
remember. Unfortunately, though thankful it was all a misunderstanding,
he doesn’t, and lays no claim to the sixteen year old David. Until he
lays on the boy and meets his mirror image…
Marnie Hibbs won’t
lose her son, not even to the man she’s loved for years. She fell in
love with Law years ago the summer his family vacationed in the same
location as hers, and for years she’s secretly watched his career – and
his legion of women – from afar. Though she doesn’t know who the
anonymous source is that led Law to her again, she’ll do whatever it
takes to protect David and keep him with her.
As Law deals with
the news that he’s a father, he finds himself drawn to Marnie and soon
begins thinking about a future with her and David. But Marnie won’t
allow him closer. She knows that Law is a lady’s man and that the secret
she’s harboring could drive Law away for good.
The reprint of
Long Time Coming is something that devoted Brown fans will
relish and new readers of her work can enjoy. Though many decades have
passed since the first edition and romances are edgier and sometimes
more explicit than many years ago, Long Time Coming is
still a pure romance that will capture a readers heart.
The chemistry
between Marnie and Law pours off the pages. It’s undeniable, explosive
and readers won’t be able to get enough. As they fight their attraction
to one another – Marnie because of her secrets and Law because he knows
that Marnie is the total opposite of what he normally dates – they have
to come to terms with what is best for David.
Sandra Brown penned
an enjoyable contemporary romance that is true to the genre. Readers can
sit back and enjoy a wonderful read while soaring the skies with an
astronaut and the woman who has loved him for years. Long Time
Coming is one of my favourite contemporary romances by this
author.
