Dumped days before Valentines Day, Mandy Hinshaw decided to spend the money she saved for the special occasion in the form of wicked self indulgence. She bought a hot tub. As a romance writer, she believed in love and happy ever after. But instead of being broken hearted about the breakup, she was furious at herself for all the time she wasted on such a looser.
He may have only spied the woman from the back as she left the store, but Sawyer knew he had to get to know her better. Requesting the installation papers, he hoped to gain more than a glimpse of the mysterious woman. Instant attraction all but took his breath away and he purposely took his time with the job. Time enough for him to work up his nerve and ask her out.
The sexual tension became explosive and lust all but swept them off their feet. However, neither of them was prepared for the consequences. Mandy wanted forever, but if physical attraction was all they had, could she force herself to let him go and search for Mr. Right? Sawyer in turn was overwhelmed by emotions, but those same emotions did not coincide with his life plan. Now he must make a decision, to either admit the love he felt for Mandy or move on. But can he live without her and function with only half a heart?
I liked the general story and the idea of love at first sight. The middle of the story seemed to become a bit unfocused, but it really snapped together for a fabulous ending. Mandy and Sawyer did not always seem consistent in some of their words and reactions. Overall, I found I liked Sawyer and his emotions, but Mandy seemed more contrived and it left me feeling a little manipulated. In the end, I found this novel to be enjoyable.
