PURE SEX with Sasha White, Lucinda Betts, Bonnie Edwards

[Only 2 of the 3 stories in this anthology were available for this review]

The Crib by Sasha White

When Private Investigator, Alexis “Lexy” Signorino takes a case of murder, it changes her life forever. Undercover as a cocktail waitress, Lexy’s prime suspect is the sexy-as-hell, Devon Kaye. Devin is everything Lexy shouldn’t want, but can’t resist. Though she feels he’s not the murdering kind, she can’t be sure if it’s her overheated sex-drive talking or her P.I.’s instincts.  The great thing is; that in the search for a killer, Lexy can keep Devon close at hand…

"The Crib" by Sasha White is an explosive, edgy tale with a strong heroine who knows what she wants and goes after it. Lexy is a volatile woman who worms her way into a reader's heart as she searches for the answers to clear the name of someone she loves and overcomes a painful past. Her determination and grit in this story is written at the strong hand of a strong writer. Only a writer, sure of herself and her pen, could write a character such as Lexy, as well as in the first person, and pull it off superbly.

"The Crib" is sexy, raw and intriguing. Devon and Lexy set the pages on fire and leave the reader wanting more. I hope to see these characters again in the future, working together and spending time in one another's arms. They're characters who are memorable, as is the author's voice.

The Bet by Lucinda Betts

For Phillip and Zoe, their lives have just become mighty interesting. Both work at the same company and both have an attraction for the other that shouldn’t be acted upon. But when they are both after the same advancement in the company, they both take the opportunity to maybe get what they both want.  If Zoe gets her promotion, she also gets Phillips bonus. If Phillip gets the promotion, he’ll get Zoe as a sex slave for twenty-four hours. Who will win? Can there only be one winner when the prize is what they both really want? All bets are off when it comes to matters of the heart…

Lucinda Betts, "The Bet", is an exciting and tantalizing story that is wonderfully written. Zoe and Phillip are characters who have an amazing electric chemistry which leaps off the pages and heats the blood. Zoe is a woman trying to succeed in a male dominated profession where promotion is very low. In trying to advance her career, she is shown that there is more to life – and to herself – than just her job. At Phillip's hand she learns more about herself than she ever thought possible.

Phillip seduces Zoe in this tale, and his rich heart, seduces the reader. Ms. Betts is a new author for me, but one that I look forward to reading in the future. "The Bet" is intense, sensual and pure enjoyment.

Since I didn’t receive an ARC of Ms. Edwards story, I can’t talk about the anthology as a whole. But for the two stories I did read, I have to say that I think they show what is in store for reader within this anthology. For Ms. White or Ms. Betts’ stories alone, this is one anthology worth reading!
