After four years of war it was good to have something to celebrate as
Trevor Wilkins watched family members come
home. It was a brief moment of solitude before the family was about to come to celebrate July 4th with them. As he looked up he saw the woman who had held his heart for the past 27 years. Claire Wilkins was not only his partner but his soul mate and his love. There wasn't a day that went by he didn't thank the good Lord for that day so long ago that brought them together.
It was in June of 1892 in Minnesota when a young Trevor Wilkins was walking across the towns street, when out of no where a young Jonah Holcomb came running out the general store with the storekeeper Mr Timmons at his heels. Seems Jonah had taken an apple, not a good one mind you but one that was destined to join the other rotted ones in the can but still it was the point of the matter. Needless to say that it was at this point Trevor met the young widow Holcomb, and the woman that would touch his heart and life from that day on.
As the family members started to pull in the driveway Trevor and Claire
came back to present time. The family gatherings were always the best
part of their lives now that all the children were grown and on their
own yet there was one who still was not heard from since the early days
of the war.
Ms. Storm has a wonderful way of bringing her characters to life in her novels and after reading this final book in the series I felt as though the Wilkins brothers were old friends and they each have left a small part of themselves in the readers life.
Ms. Storm' s female leads are strong women who bring a presence to the story and even when they are not on the page or chapter one feels them there. Claire was no different, she brings honesty, and love to Trevor and will go to hell and back to protect any of them.
I am so happy I was able to read and review this book. I strongly suggest to the readers to read all three they are well worth the time and experience. It will make you believe romance and love more than you do now if you're not a
believer yet. I love the story -- thank you Ms Storm for a wonderful series.
