Years ago, Lady Elizabeth Hawthorne practically left Marcus Ashford, Earl of Westfield at the altar and married another man. The years have past and Marcus has never forgotten her or the desire he felt for her then that has never faded. Now a widow, Elizabeth is his for the taking…one that he intends to have. He wants Elizabeth, carnally, addictively and passionately.
But Elizabeth is in danger. In her possession is her deceased husband’s journal that if it falls into the wrong hands, could be fatal to the secret organization of spies with which Marcus himself belongs to. It falls to Marcus to keep Elizabeth safe and protect the journal from falling into the wrong hands. Marcus vows to do whatever it takes to keep both safe, as long as Elizabeth is within his arms….
Lady Elizabeth Hawthorne won’t give into her unrequited desires for Marcus Ashford. Years ago she witnessed where his loyalties lay and they weren’t with her, she’ll have nothing to do with the rake. However, under his protection, Marcus pulls out all the stops to get her into his bed and she finds herself unable to resist. Marcus is a craving she wants to indulge in but can she trust him this time around to catch her as she falls for his irresistible charms?
Sylvia Day has moved to the top of my auto-buy list and I hope her pen is full of ink because I’m anxious to read more of her work. Ask For It is a delicious tale of danger, secrets, undeniable chemistry, intrigue and full of excellent writing. The 1770s setting is brought to life in this story, the characters are memorable and the passion explosive. Ms. Day keeps things calm, while exciting with an easy to follow plot, a perfect pace and vivid scenes.
Marcus is a hero that reader’s fall in love with. He’s charming, seductive, intelligent, and knows how to treat a woman—his falling in love makes a reader sigh. Elizabeth is a determined and fascinating woman. She strong, regal and a perfect match to the perfect hero. Ask For It has it all, everything a reader could possibly ask for and be in awe of everything more that it gives. This is a one-sitting read, so find a quiet corner, grab a sweet chardonnay and be prepared to be entranced. Sylvia Day is a new author for this reviewer, something I plan to rectify at the first opportunity, and she’s one to watch.
Sensuality, a sexy-as-hell hero, action, danger, great dialogue and superb writing make Ask For It a must read and also makes it a recipient of The Road to Romance Reviewer’s Choice Award. Sylvia Day doesn’t make her readers ask for it, or anything else, after reading one of her stories – she already delivers it one hundred percent!
