Tara Douglas was an overweight geek in high school regularly humiliated by cheerleader Kelsey Little. A very popular reality show on television, Whose Bride Is She Anyway, is offering a fortune to the male contestant who wins and marries the bride. There are 20 contestants, all hunks, and a jury. The group spends a month on a remote tropical island and the jury chooses the groom. If the couple stay married one year, they get $1,000,000. Tara is now a beautiful woman in her 30’s and wants to be jury foreman. Kelsey Little is the bride. Tara wants to use the show to get revenge on Kelsey for everything that happened in high school. She meets contestant August Guthrie and Tara’s focus changes. August entered the contest because Kelsey was his high school fantasy female.
The chemistry between Tara and August is extraordinary like a force of nature. The love scenes between them are beautifully written by Ms. Cassidy. There is a lot of humor in this story as Kelsey continues to suffer through a constant series of mishaps, accidents and sabotage. The fall in the pool is a serious laugh out loud moment. The supporting characters in this story are equally colorful and provide a lot of entertainment of their own, especially Mary. This book is great fun.
