But when Crimson, his infrequent girlfriend disappeared, he knew it was because of him and that something awful has happened. A week later, she reappeared unharmed and back at work. Only, Crimson was … different.
It didn’t take long to find out who exactly Copper was but both refused to budge, each having an agenda of their own. A cat and mouse game ensured. For as the desire between them increases, lies come to the surface and terrible and wondrous secrets are revealed.
Mechele Armstrong has combined compelling characters with an explosive setting, making this an enjoyable read. From a wicked vampiress to betrayal, from romance to murder and mayhem, The Conduit has a little something for all types of readers. Although I truly enjoyed the suspense and tension between the characters, I found the writing style a little distracting. The over use of short, fragmented sentences distracted me, making it a little difficult for me to submerse myself as fully in the story as I would have liked.
