TALON’S TROPHY by Dawn Ryder

Talon has been working his entire life towards his goal of getting a trophy female. He’d done everything to get to the point where he could work on the borders and possibly capture one breaking the laws to make her his own. While patrolling, he sees the chance he’s been waiting for when one crosses into hunter territory and decides to take her. He knows that she wasn’t quite breaking the law, but they are fair game if they cross the border, and he’s not about to let her go. After all, she was trying to save on that was stealing.

Chanah couldn’t believe it when her little sister Mia crossed over to the hunter’s side to take some yemuta, a very valuable commodity everywhere. Her family was poor and although the plant would bring enough money to feed them for a long time, everyone knew that women that went to the other side didn’t always come back. When she saw the man coming after her sister, she reacted to protect her, and found herself captured by a hunter. What will happen to her now?

Chanah and Talon are two people that learn a lot from each other. Although both of them had been raised in entirely different environments, the somehow find a way to connect and understand the differences in their cultures. But Chanah is considered little more than a slave in Talons world, and that isn’t enough for her.

It was a little difficult to see Chanah and Talon as madly in love; the connection between the two didn’t seem to be there. Most of the story was about sex more than anything, and that could be why I felt the connection was missing, the interaction between the couple didn’t seem to be there. On the other hand, as individuals they were very intriguing people. Talon’s world doesn’t treat women very well, some are considered little more than slaves, with no minds of their own. Talon and Chanah are likable people that you want to get to know more about as the story goes on. Chanah is a strong person who doesn’t want to give up her freedom. Talon doesn’t really know what he’s getting into when he captures Chanah, and they both learn a lot from each other. I thought it was an interesting story that is certainly worth trying if you like erotic futuristic romances.
