SANCTUARY by Delilah Devlin

In a world destroyed by war, Kate McKinnon holds tight to one of the few remaining sanctuaries. With a world covered in darkness, the creatures in the shadows no longer have a reason to hide. Kate and her small band of survivors must battle to stay alive, against human and werewolves alike. With so few people left, women have become a rare commodity.

Ty Bennett is an ex-military man who mustered out of the arm before the Great War. Each night he listens to Kate on the radio and knows time grows short for her and the few remaining survivors. Determined to come to her rescue, he and his old teammates dare to travel across country. Ty is riding for more than just saving a few survivors, he rides in hopes of finding the one woman that could possibly love him.

Arriving in the nick of time, Ty rescues Kate and her men from attack. Instead of thanks, he discovers Kate is even more stubborn and younger than he believed. And infinitely more beautiful. Now that he saw her, he knew he would have her, no matter the cost. But things don’t add up and Kate gets suspicious. When the compound comes under attack, will they be able to work together? Or will distrust divide them? For without Kate, Ty Bennett will be forced to travel the world without his true mate.

Ty Bennett is not portrayed as normal everyday hero and I liked him all the better for it. I love Delilah's description of him. The unusual setting and time for this book seems tailor made for these two people. I confess I liked how Delilah Devlin constructed both her characters and world. I would have like to seen more action and dialog. The story seemed to be a little bogged down by all Kate’s internal conflict and thoughts. Overall, I enjoyed Sanctuary. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary with a lot of hot sex, make sure you pick up a copy for yourself.
