'Checkmate' By Katherine Kingston
Star-crossed lovers,
rivals and pirates are the least of
what Devonne and Raje have been to one another, until secrets drove a
wedge
between them. Their pasts catch up with them when they're forced to
compete in
a very bizarre trial-by-combat, in a series of contests that is each
stranger
than the last.
They must work
together, or they've got a date with the
slave labor camp that's a lot less pleasant than what they're currently
enduring. Yet as they grow close once again, Devonne and Raje know that
their
rekindled love could tear them apart.
Forced to face their
past, these unlucky lovers regain their
trust in one another and finally choose their fate.
Note:
Contains some ménage.
'Concubine's Revenge' By Arianna Hart
That pleasure planet is
the one destination that Traminian
Drake Cantor can't wait to reach. A week of shore leave and sex any way
he
wants it are the prescription for the pirate captain's cabin
fever--until his
plans get shelved by an unexpected attack from another pirate ship
that's held
together with spit, a jury-rigged flux capacitor and plenty of luck.
Triona Fallon has come a
long way from the timid concubine
she once was. When she nabs Drake, she knows exactly what she wants to
do with
him. Turnabout has never been fair, or so much fun...
A self-made woman finally
gets her man, and a little
justice.
'Crash Course' By Dawn
Madigan
A rogue
space pirate crashes on the bleak desert world of
Chebrri, he despairs at how he's going to survive such a forbidding
place--until Chiliad is discovered by one of the few positive things
that can
be said of the place: Val, a cadet-warrior from the Amazonian colony,
Chebbri-Taj.
She's cunning,
clever and very persistent in her efforts to
blast a few extra openings in his hide. And to her, she's discovered
one of the
most fascinating things. She's never seen a man, outside the archival
database,
that is. So what if he's a barbarian? Domineering and aggravating, she
still
can't stop thinking about how good his kisses feel. All she has to do
is lead
him back to his ship before every thing goes to hell, and a tribe of
angry
Amazons interrupt them...
Girl meets boy was never
this interesting!
This reviewer greatly
enjoyed all three of the entries into
this anthology. Each is a delightful, well-crafted read that will keep
the
reader coming back for more from each of these talented ladies and
their
spunky, clever heroines whom are never outmatched by their leading men.
Pleasure
Raiders
is going on this reviewer's keeper shelf, right where it
has earned a place to be!
