Natalie Compton wants to begin again. After the betrayal that ends her
marriage, Natalie travels to Italy to start fresh, heal her wounded
heart and soul. She never expects to find romance however. When she
meets young, Giovanni Ragazzo in Florence, she’s surprised at her
attraction to him, and his interest in her. Natalie believes that she’s
undesirable, older than Giovanni, not slim and beautiful like younger
women his own age. But her hesitation and her low self-esteem do nothing
to put out the fire that really heats up whenever she and Giovanni are
together. But their secrets could mean the end of their newfound
romance.
Can two people fall in love with only ten days of being together? Are
they just ‘two ships passing in the night’ during One Italian Summer?
Janet Mills writes a sensual romance that readers will certainly enjoy
in One Italian Summer. Natalie and Giovanni have a chemistry that
is wonderfully written and they capture a reader’s heart. Natalie
totally drew me into the story from the first few pages. A forty-three
year old woman whose life has changed drastically and she beginning
again, she is powerfully written by Ms. Mills with care, precision and a
reader won’t soon forget about her. Giovanni is capturing as well. I
fell for him and loved getting to know this Italian well in this story.
Ms. Mills penned a perfect match with this couple.
One of the things I especially liked within One Italian Summer
was Janet Mills’ amazing descriptive ability with the scenery,
landscapes and beauty of Italy. Italy comes alive in this story and
readers will have Ms. Mills to thank for their very own trip since a
reader sees it all through her words and shares the trip with Natalie.
One Italian Summer is another hit on Ms. Mills’ list of great
stories. I was swept away by the romance, the emotions of the characters
and loved the feeling of being in Italy myself thanks to her superb
writing. Kudos to Ms. Mills for this romantic story of new beginnings
that reader’s can be swept into. It’s also a perfect story to get rid of
the winter blues. One Italian Summer should be on any reader’s
keeper shelf!
