As a thousand year old sorceress, Lydia has become bored with her existence. No one takes the time to enjoy life anymore. Almost desperate to remember a better time, Lydia opens a bottle of old French perfume she saved to chase away her melancholy.
Amas is a Djinn. For the last three hundred years, he has been trapped in a bottle waiting to be summoned. For the last three hundred years, the only human contact he had was the voice outside the bottle. The more he learned about this mysterious woman, the more he wanted her.
The first thing Amas notices was Lydia and she is even more beautiful than he imagined. Now the only problem he has is to make her fall in love with him before she makes her wish. A life of a Djinn means his life is not his own. If she doesn’t make the correct wish, they could be separated for eternity.
The blurb for this story grabbed my attention and I really wanted to read
it. When I did, it was not quite what I expected. The storyline itself
has merit, but the writing was so full of clichés, the book might not
hold some readers attention. The interaction between the characters was
compelling, but came close to sounding like one-upmanship. What grabbed me was the sexual tension between the characters - talk about steamy! Overall, the book was so short a lot of the normal relationship development didn’t take place. It was an interesting read, but it might not be to everyone's tastes.
