Part time lovers, what happens when one wants to take it up a notch?
Sass and Jacob were lovers, both sharing the dream of being published authors. While Jacob was a famous suspense author Sass was a newly published one. Having found each other they were part time lovers. Sass is a mother with two kids, a house and responsibilities while Jacob is a free person with not a commitment in site. What happens when Jacob decides that he wants more, more of Sass in his life?
Jacob wants to marry Sass as he is ready for her in his life on a permanent level.
But he has told Sass he is marrying her and not her kids. That is when she realizes it is time to cut the strings and move on as her and her kids are a package deal.
Unexpectedly, Jacob rents the house next to hers to prove to Sass that he can be the man for her.
Not one to give up, Jacob encounters Sass’s two kids who are energetic, smart and ready to pull a fast one on him. While Jacob has found a woman who can makes him feel like he has never felt before, is he ready for the bother of being a father? Can Sass and Jacob make a go of it or will they end up like leaves just dancing in the wind?
A Bit of Sass by Sarah McCarthy is like a breath of fresh air to read, a book that makes you sit up and notice that not every thing is perfect as everyone has flaws, good aspects as well as the bad that are encountered in everyday life. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Jacob after spending much time and money catches Sass’s kids digging up his expensive bulb with the neighbor’s dog, all in the name of waking them up for Spring.
While erotic and steamy this book leaves you with a feeling of that anything is possible all you have to do is open your mind to it and never give up. Yes, there is sex but a plot so intertwined with the hot scenes you are eager to read page after page just to see if love can conquer all. Sarah McCarthy lets you know that the curves and swerves of every day life affect her characters, as well making them easy to identify and relate to them. I can honestly say the way her characters grip the emotions and life’s problems as they occur makes the book well worthy of the look.
Having never read anything from this author before you can beat that I will be going off to find more books by Sarah McCarthy. Enticing scenes as well as the inviting the reader to be taken into a story that has it all, makes this one book I am keeping to read over and over again.
