Cuffs and Coffee Breaks by MaryJanice Davidson
Julie Kay About has accepted an invitation for dinner with a co-worker. She has never laid eyes on him as they have been communicating via email. Of course, with her track record, she knows it will not go well and she is so right!
An extremely entertaining tale as Julie Kay’s blind date unfolds. It is filled with wry and unique humor as events unfold. Julie Kay is another spunky heroine that we have come to expect from Ms. Davidson.
A “No Drama” Valentine’s by Leslie Esdaile
Jocelyn Jefferson and her friends have agreed upon a girl’s night out. There is no need for a man on Valentine ’s Day as they will pamper themselves instead. Jocelyn’s wonderful plans go up in smoke as one by one her girlfriends cancel on her.
This reader empathized fully with poor Jocelyn as the story progressed. Ms. Esdaile has written a funny and very touching story. With a splendid supporting cast, this was truly an extremely entertaining tale.
Valentine Survivor by Susanna Carr
Shanna Murphy is planning on the most perfect Valentine’s day. She wants to be with the man she loves but will that happen?
Ms. Carr’s contribution has romance and humor. Shanna is a character we all can sympathize with. She lives an ordinary life and has to deal with a boss from hell. This reader was definitely rooting for Shanna to come up on top at the end!
This anthology contains three stories that will definitely tickle the funny bones. It makes the reader think about Valentine’s Day and all that day signifies to some people. It can be a wonderful day or a painful day depending upon a person’s circumstance. The title “Valentine’s Day is Killing Me” says it all!!
