Darius is one of four princes sent through a portal on a mission to earth to find a mate. Furious at being sent because his world is right in the middle of war, he feels he should be in battle, not looking for his mate. He’s sure that finding a mate can wait, but according to his mother the queen it can’t because his mate will expand his powers and center him and his power of fire, among other things. Now he finds himself working in a bar on earth and looking for a woman that he can’t believe exists on earth. Then Samantha walks in there is an instant attraction to her, but surely it’s only sexual…
Samantha is in Seattle to do a job, and that’s it. She’s coming off a bad relationship and has sworn off men, until she sees Darius. She tries hard to hold on too her promise, but the attraction to him is getting hard to resist. When the impulse becomes overwhelming, she gives in, and in the process finds that she may have bit off more than she can chew.
Darius needs to find his mate, and it seems like it’s taking forever. He and his brothers have a war to win, and they can’t do it on earth. Meeting Samantha is a shock, because he’s never been that strongly attracted to a woman in his life. Samantha doesn’t want a long term relationship, but it looks like she’s not going to have a choice, because her heart has already decided.
The chemistry between the two is sizzling and the story line really has a lot going for it. I couldn’t put it down, because I wanted to know what happened next. Samantha is a great heroine, able to hold her own and not get hysterical when things happen to her that would freak out a different woman. Darius is the typical alpha male, and when he falls for Samantha it’s somewhat of a shock for him to realize how much he needs her. Darius and his brothers and some pretty sexy dudes, and I want to find out what happens to all of them. This is part of a series that Marie Harte is doing, and I can’t wait to read the rest of them.
