CERULEAN BLUE by Annmarie Ortega

Madeline saw him from afar at a flea market. He had the perfect smile, incredible hair, and that face… only one word came to mind. Beautiful! And that body… yum. She had to have him for herself. With a little haggling, Maddie purchased him for only fifteen dollars! The portrait of the mysterious painter intrigued Madeline. So much so, she hung the small frame in her bedroom.

Sebastian’s one passion has always been painting. Even women didn’t hold a candle to his compulsion to his craft. Until one woman became so jealous, she cursed him into one of his own paintings. At first, Sebastian loved all the time he could direct toward his beloved art, but as time passed, 400 years to be exact, it became a little too long, even for him.

Dreams of the man in the painting disturbed her sleep, and Madeline swore they were real. After the second night in Sebastian’s arms, she wished they were. In only a few days time, Madeline has fallen in love with her dream man. Determined to free him from the curse, Madeline promises to do everything in her power to free him. But when everything fails, will she give up her life to live in his? Or will the curse be too much, tearing their impossible love apart?

Annmarie Ortega has created a unique story to entertain the readers. The description of Sebastian intrigued me, talk about hot! I like the ending up to a certain extent, but absolutely loved Sebastian’s last painting and Maddie’s participation. The downside to this book, although original, is it was told in the author’s voice and not through the characters. Overall, I found the book, although short, the perfect size, not only for the characters to fall in love, but for the tension to remain high enough to keep the readers attention.
