TALES OF THE SHAREEM - MAIA AND RYLAN by Allyson James

The Shareem are males genetically altered by DNAmo to be the most fabulous sexual partners. Rylan, a level two Shareem, specializes in games and fun. He uses his unique abilities to teach Maia. But because she is forbidden, he cannot teach her everything. They live with the hope of escape and freedom to complete their sexual games.

As the only female Shareem ever made, Maia is isolated and protected, but not necessarily innocent. Over the years, she and Rylan, have developed a relationship, one that satisfies some of their physical cravings but none of their need to be together. It is a dangerous relationship for if they are ever discovered, they know they will be separated forever. Although the Shareem are not supposed to have feelings of love, both have experienced something more than just sex. But when DNAmo is shut down, Maia disappears and Rylan is devastated. He will do anything to find her and end their games.

Tales of the Shareem-Maia and Rylan is a story that will capture your imagination and leave you wishing for more. If, like myself, you’ve never experienced the Shareem, this is a wonderful introduction to the story. These ultimate sexual beings are obviously every woman’s fantasies. But the wonderful thing is, they become more than that. Rylan knows that he’s been engineered to serve sexually and he knows he’s not supposed to feel things such as love and affection, but he does. The journey he takes to realize that is one of the fascinating parts of this story. The other, of course, is Maia’s introduction to her sexual side. Ms. James does a great job describing her: her frustration for sexual satisfaction and knowledge, something that is genetically engineered into her but that which she is denied, her longing for Rylan, not just physically, but emotionally, as well as her confusion once she is found again. Although this is a short story, I felt as if I really got to know the characters and connected with them. In fact, I’m off to read more Tales of the Shareem now!
