Libby Blue's past haunted her dreams, but seemed far removed from the refuge she'd found in the wilds of Idaho. Settled into running a sheep farm and now helping to raise an orphaned boy, she rarely missed the trappings of her former life. Trouble still hounded her heels in the form of a terrible neighbor, but her faith in God made her feel she could handle anything. That is, until Remington Walker wandered onto her land and got himself shot for trespassing.
Remington Walker had no designs on Miss Libby Blue. He did have designs on some money and a lot of revenge. Libby Blue was his ticket to both, though he couldn't tell her. So, when he ended up shot for snooping around on her land, he figured it was a good time to find out what the information he needed to accomplish his goals. He found out much more about the power of love and faith.
"Loving Libby" is a nice, wholesome read for anyone who enjoys the historical romance genre. Libby's strengths are believable and understandable in the wake of her growing up years. Her faith in God, while strong, is still relatively untested up to this point and finds the testing grounds to be hard. Can she believe in the good God wants for her, or is she being punished for her decisions?
Remington Walker's lack of faith stems from life's hits and troubles. Watching events in his life have taken a toll on his belief in a loving and trustworthy God. But he can't help but see how Libby's faith bolsters her. Remington's history is believable and realistic. His actions fit with his personality as well as with how some men might proceed when life throws them a curve.
I recommend "Loving Libby" as a romantic read for those as young as older teens. There is nothing in it which I found objectionable.
Robin Lee Hatcher is still on a roll when it comes to good books with a faith message.
