Rachel lives in hard times. Times before experts have debunked the old myths and legends. Matthew has a choice to either fight a loosing battle alone, or turn back to his friends for help. The pale creatures and the werewolves are getting bolder, killing during the day now. Rachel is fed up with the way the men hid behind plans and plots without ever making a move to help. With her husband gone, Rachel decides to take up his charge and battle alone. Only Matthew does return. When he asks for volunteers Rachel knows the time for talk has passed. But will her actions to save the village ruin her marriage and cost her the only man she has ever loved?
‘Ever legend has a beginning’
You can tell this book is a start or the beginning –but what a start! Rachel’s love for her husband wavered but never broke. More telling is Matthew’s confusion on Rachael’s new role in their relationship. As they learn about each other and their new world, neither give up their faith nor love in each other. This is the first vampire story I read from Shiloh Walker, but I am definitely going to be on the look out for the rest of the books in this series.
