THE EVIDENCE by Austin Boyd

As a twelve-year-old farm boy, John Wells heard God’s voice tell him he’d do great and mighty things. The tug on his heart and life pulled him toward space. First he served in the U.S. military as a fighter pilot. Then his life dream evolved, and he entered the space program. An astronaut, Wells served on the space station in the year 2011. He was high over the earth when a strategically planned terrorist attack demolished key United States high priority targets and Middle Easterners were blamed. Down below, FBI agent Terrance Kerry discovers interesting insider data concerning the attacks. His contact with John Wells helps unfurl a sinister plot.

Suddenly, the space agency receives telecommunications from an old forgotten piece of equipment on Mars. Pictures are beamed back to earth. However, from the angles shot, they couldn’t be from the existing probe. Was an alien life form signaling earth? Reverend Malcolm Raines claims it’s a sign from God; new life forms do exist and earth needs to evangelize.

Caught in the middle of the space storm, John Wells and his wife Amy and their children must make decisions about their future. Wells has the seniority and the intelligence to make a difference. But his absence from his family will make a huge difference in their lives. Are they willing to make those kind of sacrifices?

Austin Boyd has taken a fresh exciting look at an old question: is there life out there? His unique perspective reels in a reader and creates a page turning novel. Boyd’s true-to-life characters grace a well written novel. The need for technical information is woven into the story to keep the reader informed but not bored. The final pages create a clamor for the sequel.
