Kansas (aka Sass) Hawthorne, a rookie Special Agent in the FBI, would do anything for her job. She can steal anything, a seasoned thief, and she loves going up against Agent Stewart Rio and his team. Sass has proven more than once that she can steal anything and can beat his team. During the current
'competition' however, Stewart is waiting for her once the job is done, something Sass doesn't count on but will figure a way out of it and still win.
Rio couldn't be happier. Finally, he's got Sass Hawthorne where he wants her. His team will feel the thrill of the win. But as he's frisking Sass for the disk she stole, he feels much more than mere thrills while touching her. His number one rule is to never get involved with anyone he works with. But Sass has a way of making him do and feel things he knows he shouldn't. Thankfully they only see one another from time to time, and he can control his feelings during the few meetings they have.
But when Sass and Rio are put together on a case, posing as husband and wife, Rio finds himself enjoying the time spent with the 'sassy' Special Agent.
This is another superb story from the pen of Nina Bruhns. Enemy Husband is chalk full of chemistry, heat, excitement and devilment. Sass and Rio are great characters, ones that readers won't soon forget. They prove that when the need arises, they will stand side by side, even when they can't seem to stand together personally. Their tumultuous relationship causes much tension and distraction, but both can get the job done and work well together.
Enemy Husband is another in the long list of great stories from Nina Bruhns. Readers won't be disappointed with Enemy Husband. It has everything a reader could possibly want in their stories, and much more.
